Q:Â I work as a courier and I am not sure what class of use I should have?

A: Any business that carries goods for financial reward should have the use listed as Carriage of goods for hire/reward or courier/haulage use. If you are unsure you should always ask as this declaring the wrong use of the vehicle may invalidate your insurance.

Q: I have 3 years no claims bonus can I have no claims protection?

A: There a minority of insurers that will allow protected or guaranteed no claims bonus for those that have earned 3 years no claim bonus, However it is commonly offered for those with 4 or more years no claims bonus.

Q: I have a drink driving conviction from 6 years ago do I still have to advise my insurance provider?

A: The majority of insurers and quote websites will ask you to declare motoring convictions within the last 5 years. However any major conviction involving a ban will result in the conviction remaining on your licence for a longer period and should therefore be declared. It is important to check with the DVLA whether a motoring conviction is still valid before requesting quotations. If you are still unsure speak to your insurance advisor as they may be able to point you in the right direction.
